Austria
In 1994, the first Austrian H&M store opened in beautiful Vienna. There are now more than 60 stores all over the country.

Belgium
Since the opening of its first store in 1992, H&M has continued to expand in small but fashion-conscious Belgium. Today there are stores in all the main cities and shopping centres. COS also has two Belgian stores.

Bulgaria
The first H&M store in Bulgaria opened in Sofia in spring 2012.

Croatia
Our first store in Croatia opened in spring 2011, in Zagreb’s Cvjetni, an exclusive shopping mall in the city centre.

Czech Republic
In 2003 H&M expanded into four new markets, one of which was the Czech Republic. Since 2011, Czech customers can also shop COS and Monki through e-commerce.

Denmark
In 1967 H&M opened its first store in Denmark, making it our third sales market. Copenhagen’s Kastrup also houses the first H&M airport store. COS, Monki and Weekday have stores in Denmark, and in 2009 Cheap Monday opened its very first store in Copenhagen.

Estonia
The first three H&M stores will open in Tallinn in autumn 2013.
Finland
Finland, where H&M arrived in 1997, is our most recent Nordic market – but the capital Helsinki already boosts H&M, Monki, Weekday and H&M Home stores. In 2012, they will also be joined by Finland’s first COS store.

France
Since H&M first moved into the market in 1998, France has seen rapid expansion. Today H&M is represented across the whole country. COS is also present in several French locations.

Germany is H&M's biggest market, accounting for approximately a third of total sales. Growth continues to be strong and more stores will be added. COS, Monki and Weekday are all present on the German market.

Greece
The Greek customers first queued up outside H&M in spring 2007, when Athens got it’s first store. Expansion has continued ever since.

Hungary
A long-awaited first Hungarian H&M store opened up in Budapest in 2005, since then more stores have been added in rapid pace. In 2011, COS and Monki opened up online sales to Hungary.

Ireland
H&M opened a first store in Dundrum, Ireland in 2005. Today there are H&M and COS stores in all major cities. Irish customers can also shop COS and Monki online since 2011.

Italy
In 2003 H&M added Italy to its portfolio of markets with the opening of a first store in Milan’s elegant shopping street, Corso Vittorio Emanuele. In 2012 COS will open its very first Italian store, also located in the fashion-capital of Milan.

Latvia
In September 2012 H&M opened its first store in central Riga.

Lithuania will be a new H&M market in autumn 2013 when the first H&M stores open in Vilnius.
Luxembourg
For obvious reasons Luxembourg is one of our smallest markets. It shares its head office with its slightly larger neighbour Belgium.

Netherlands
H&M established its first base in the Netherlands in 1989. Despite the country’s small size, there are more than 100 H&M stores spread across Netherlands. In addition, COS and Monki have shops in the country.

Norway
In 1964 H&M opened its first store outside of Sweden. This Norwegian newcomer rapidly became a huge success and today there are H&M stores in all major cities.

Poland
H&M's first store in Poland opened at the Wola Park Shopping Centre in Warsaw in 2003, since then H&M has expanded across the country. During summer 2012 COS will open its first Polish store in Warsaw. In 2011 COS and Monki started retailing online to Poland.

We opened our first store in Romania in spring 2011. Today there are several H&M stores located in the best shopping hubs throughout the country.

The first store in Serbia, in the capital Belgrade, is planned to open at the end of 2013.
Slovakia
The expansion in Eastern Europe continued throughout spring 2007, with the opening of Slovakia's first store in the capital Bratislava. In 2011, COS and Monki opened up their online stores to customers in Slovakia.

Spain
In spring 2000, H&M first came to Spain – and was an immediate success. Since then expansion has continued, including the recent openings of several COS stores. Since 2011 COS and Monki also ship to Spain through their online stores.

Sweden
The very first H&M store was opened by Erling Persson in Västerås in 1947. Following explosive expansion – especially throughout the 1990s – Sweden is today one of our biggest markets. In addition, COS, Monki, Weekday and Cheap Monday all have stores across the country.

Switzerland

United Kingdom
The first H&M store in London opened in 1976, making the UK a first market outside of Scandinavia. H&M has developed well in the UK and is currently our third largest market. Cheap Monday has concessions in the UK and opened its first own store in 2012 on Carnaby St, London. Monki, COS and H&M Home also have stores in the UK, as well as e-commerce.
