All For Children

All for Children is a unique collaboration between H&M and UNICEF. Together we work to protect the rights of some of the poorest children in the world. Today, we reach out to more than 2 million children and the adults around them in two projects in India and Bangladesh. 25% of the sales price of our annual All For Children collection and additional donations from H&M fund these projects with around USD 12.5 million.

Tamil Nadu, India

Since 2009, we work to improve the livelihood of children in cotton producing areas in Tamil Nadu, India. The region has about 62 million inhabitants of which 17 million are children and it is one of the world`s largest producers of cotton. Despite good economic progress, caste and gender related poverty remains and child labour and trafficking occur.

Cotton is the raw material we use most to make our clothes but other than with the suppliers who manufacture our clothes and accessories we do not have direct business relations with cotton farmers. By cooperating with partners like UNICEF we can however contribute to significant improvements in this community.

The five year project targets 1.2 million children with special focus given to the about 300,000 most vulnerable children aiming to prevent the causes of child labour, provide education and improve access to health care and good nutrition.

"The social impacts resulting from H&M's investment will improve the lives and futures of the children and the communities in which they live."

Dhaka, Bangladesh

In 2012, we extended our collaboration to support children and their families in and around Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The country is home to one of the largest garment industries in the world which contributes to a continued strong economic growth. But despite this growth still half of the 60 million children in Bangladesh continue to live below the international poverty line.

Our six year All For Children project works to holistically improve access to education and social protection and to raise awareness on children“s rights for about 1 million people in the poor areas of Dhaka. Special attention goes to about 40,000 children who will be enrolled in play group learning, education and get support to proceed to higher education.
